Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews officially tie the knot during lavish Hawaiian wedding 

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and high school sweetheart Brittany Matthews are now husband and wife. While surrounded by family and friends, the couple said “I do” over the weekend in Hawaii.

On the Chiefs quarterback’s Twitter page, it says, “Mr. & Mrs. Mahomes”:

The 26-year-old Kansas City signal caller donned a gray suit for the big occasion while his wife, a co-owner of the Kansas City Current soccer team, looked incredible in a stunning gown with cutouts.

Matthews had been engaged to the All-Pro quarterback since September 2020. The Super Bowl winner gave his then-girlfriend an estimated 8-to-10-carat emerald-cut diamond ring on the same day Kansas City got their Super Bowl rings after winning Super Bowl 56.

Matthews posted about their engagement on her Instagram page, saying:

“9.1.2020. On a day that was meant to celebrate you, you turned it into celebrating us. It’s always us, it’s always you and me. The words you looked into my eyes and said to me at this moment, will NEVER leave my mind! You made this day perfect, you took my entire breath away and I could not have imagined anything better. I love you, forever and always! Cheers to spending our lifetime together and an inseparable bond.”

The last couple of years have been a vortex of sorts for the duo. In February of last year, they welcomed daughter Sterling Skye Mahomes.

In the 2021 season, Kansas City made it to the AFC Championship but lost to the Cincinnati Bengals by a score of 27 - 24. After the loss at Arrowhead Stadium, the couple headed to Las Vegas, the location of the Pro Bowl.

They spent time with Mahomes’ teammate, seven-time Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce, and his girlfriend, Kayla Nicole.

In February of this year, the 2018 AP Offensive Player of the Year made a return trip to Vegas for his bachelor party, where he hung out with Kelce and their teammates, running backs Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and offensive tackle Orlando Brown.

As for Matthews, she headed to South Beach for her bachelorette bash with Nicole and several other girlfriends, including Sydni Russell, the fiancée of Chiefs All-Pro safety Tyrann Mathieu.
