Patrick Mahomes' mother Randi has weighed in on Imane Khelif's bout with Angela Carini in the Paris Olympics which has captivated the attention of every sports fan. The Algerian boxer was born a female but has higher levels of testosterone and failed an IBA gender eligibility test previously, the results of which have been disputed by the IOC.

The IBA banned her from the world championships last year. However, since they have been unrecognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which is running the competition at the Paris Olympics, the current legibility is based on 2020 Tokyo Olympic rules.

That has stirred controversy as Angela Carini withdrew 46 seconds into her match against Imane Khelif, as she suffered a blow that led her to start bleeding. The loser of the bout, though, has won the support of many prominent personalities across the sporting world and now Randi Mahomes, Patrick Mahomes' mother, can be added to the list.

She retweeted a couple of posts on X, formerly known as Twitter. One said 'Save Women's Sports' in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower. The other was a long post that said that they stand with Angela Carini.

Patrick Mahomes' mother has previously reposted another tweet on X that showed an athlete praising Jesus after athletes were reportedly forbidden from doing so. This came after organizers were accused of disrespecting Christianity by making a parody of the Last Supper using drag queens during the opening ceremony, which was subsequently denied.

NFL players weigh in on Imane Khelif vs Angela Carini boxing bout

Patrick Mahomes' mother Randi was not the only one with an NFL connection who was weighing in on the controversy surrounding Imane Khelif's participation in this year's Olympics. Current players like Saquon Barkley, Darius Slay, and Sauce Gardner, and former players like Dez Bryant and Pat McAfee were some others who gave their opinions, and most of them seemed sympathetic to Angela Carini's plight.

The Paris Olympics finds itself under fire from different quarters due to their decision regarding this matter. Whether the chorus of sportspeople speaking out against this perceived injustice will lead to any change in this year's edition is unknown but that is not stopping them from voicing their opinions on the matter.
