With Tom Brady's retirement dominating the news once again, some may have forgotten that Super Bowl LVII is right around the corner. One of the most important contestants, Patrick Mahomes, took some time out of his preparation to acknowledge the most accomplished quarterback of all-time.
Speaking on "First Things First," Mahomes revealed why he believed the quarterback was as great as he was. Here's what he said in response:
"Even though he might not have the best arm or the best mobility, he's still really good at both of those things, moving within the pocket and arm strength and then his will to bring his teammates along and his will to be great and be the best is special."

He continued, calling Brady the greatest of all-time:
"That's something that, whenever I talk to Tom, I just try to learn as much as possible. And he's more than willing to give me some advice which is I think is pretty cool, because he is the GOAT and someone that I want to try to chase. But I know it's a long way away from me and I have to continue to just win football games."
Tom Brady enters deja vu retirement in shadow of Super Bowl
If it feels like Tom Brady has been here before, it is because he has. The quarterback retired on February 1 2023, exactly one year after his original retirement.
The first retirement wrapped about six weeks after the original announcement. As a result, some fans are clinging to hopes that Brady is once again pulling everyone's chain.
However, unlike last year, Brady already has his next career lined up. The quarterback signed a deal during the 2022 offseason with FOX to call NFL games for ten years following his retirement. With his retirement now official, many are starting to countdown to the quarterback's commentating debut.
Will Tom Brady get a similar reaction to Tony Romo got when he debuted with CBS?
