Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs extended their unbeaten streak after winning their seventh straight game on Sunday, beating their AFC West rivals, the Las Vegas Raiders. The highlight of the game was DeAndre Hopkins' debut with the team.

Hopkins saw limited action, finishing with two catches for 29 yards. Though it was a quiet debut for the WR, it made an impression on fans and Mahomes. The Chiefs QB reposted a photo of him and Hopkins in an Instagram story and wrote:

"Just the start."

"My girls," Mahomes captioned one story.

Mahomes was referring to his daughter Sterling and his wife Brittany, who is pregnant with their second daughter.

Mahomes himself reached a significant milestone during the game, surpassing 30,000 career passing yards against the Raiders, completing it in 103 games, six games than Matthew Stafford's previous record of 109 games.

Patrick Mahomes praises DeAndre Hopkins after Chiefs debut

Patrick Mahomes praised Hopkins after he made his Kansas debut. The QB expressed excitement for Hopkins' growth under the Chiefs system.

“Honestly, it’s high-level stuff, just because it was zone coverage, they were in the right spot, he pulled up in the right window, stuff you see Trav do a lot, you see JuJu (Smith-Schuster) do a lot,” Mahomes said.

Mahomes believes Hopkins has good body language, which makes it easier for him to predict his routes.

"We had only practiced that play, I think, once, maybe twice. For third down in that situation, for him to run it and be in the right position, it shows that he’s going to fit in perfectly in this offense.”

Though it’s still early to predict Hopkins' long-term impact on the Chiefs, he already appears to be a strong addition to the team. The Chiefs will next play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for MNF in Week 9.
