Since his debut in the league, Patrick Mahomes has done various stunning things that have left the fans in awe. Today in the preseason game against the Detroit Lions, the two-time NFL MVP finally completed a behind-the-back pass.
The Chiefs quarterback teased fans with clips of him throwing that pass in training but had not attempted one during a game. During the first quarter of the game against the Lions, Mahomes found Travis Kelce for an eight-yard gain on a 3rd & 3.

More fans marveled at Mahomes' continued brilliance, which has kept the Kansas City Chiefs so dominant.
"No ones beating this team", said another fan.
"This guy just levels up each year", added a fan while referring to the Chiefs quarterback's greatness.
The Chiefs' offense looked great in the first quarter of the game against the Lions. Patrick Mahomes is currently the favorite to win the MVP award this season, and if the team stays healthy, he will have a great shot at winning it.
The reigning Super Bowl champions will begin their quest for a three-peat in less than three weeks against the Baltimore Ravens.
Jason Kelce lauds Patrick Mahomes for the behind-the-back pass
Not only did the fans applaud Patrick Mahomes' behind-the-back pass, but the players and media members also praised it. Jason Kelce, the brother of Travis Kelce, said:
"This son of a gun actually did it!! Magic Mahomes... Now that it’s been done in the preseason, I got a fever, and I need more cowbell."
Nick Wright, who is one of the biggest Chiefs fans, also commented on Mahomes following his behind-the-back pass.

Now that the 28-year-old quarterback has successfully completed this pass in a real game, it will be interesting to see if he attempts one during the regular season.
Based on how the Chiefs have played since Mahomes entered the league, both Andy Reid and the quarterback will not be scared to dial up this play even in a high-pressure situation.
