Netflix's ability to stream the NFL's Christmas Day double-header was questioned incessantly in the lead-up to it since the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson bout at AT&T Stadium in November. The platform struggled to cope with the traffic as fans complained about being unable to stream the event seamlessly on any device.
Many believed they'd face the same issues during the Kansas City Chiefs' duel against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens battle against the Houston Texans.
However, much to Netflix and the fans' relief, the day went swiftly as they hoped and the streams were seamless throughout both games. The platform was determined to deliver a quality experience and spared no expense, bringing in an All-Star cast to be the on-air talent.

While neither game was particularly interesting, fans and analysts alike were satisfied with the production quality and lauded Netflix for recovering its reputation after the debacle they faced during the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight:
Some are looking forward to the NFL entering a long-term deal with the platform to stream games:
"I dunno, NFL on Netflix is pretty great. Good that they sorted any scaling issues ahead of time. Now it just works. Right away. Everywhere. On every device. I don’t care what they say, they’re clearly going to expand this partnership." - Opined @mgsiegler
"They said Netflix couldn’t handle nfl streams but this looks amazing and better than Amazon." - Wrote @albinozoe

Netflix's NFL partnership: Streaming platform passes test
Netflix paid the NFL $150 million for the exclusive rights to stream the league's Christmas Day double-header as the streaming platform continues to make in-roads into sports broadcasting, which is seemingly an entertainment genre that the company is trying arduously to break into.
The audition went swimmingly as they received a largely positive review among fans. Netflix will likely press forward and look to score a long-term deal to stream marquee matchups annually. However, it's unlikely that they'll get a weekly slot like NBC, ESPN, and Amazon.
It remains to be seen whether the streaming giant and the NFL can turn the Christmas Day experiment into a long-term deal.
