LA Rams head coach Sean McVay talked about the rumored interest of the New York Jets in his tight end coach and passing game coordinator Nick Caley. The Rams have lost coaches due to their good job with the franchise, and McVay could see another one depart to get a bigger role on a different franchise.
Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reported on Wednesday that Caley is "viewed as the favorite" to become Aaron Glenn's offensive coordinator with the Jets. McVay reacted to the rumors, admitting that he's talked about this possibility, but the Jets haven't made a formal request.
"I know that's a possibility...He's a special coach. He's done a great job for us. I love everything this guy is about," McVay said, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.

Besides Nick Caley, Klint Kubiak and Scott Turner are also viewed as candidates to take the job, although Caley remains the top target for the New Yorkers.
After parting ways with Robert Saleh following a 2-3 start to the season, the Jets signed Aaron Glenn fresh off a painful loss to the Washington Commanders in the divisional round of the 2024 NFL playoffs.
Glenn is reportedly willing to keep Aaron Rodgers on the roster. Finding a fitting offensive coordinator for the veteran quarterback is crucial, but the process might take some time.
New England Patriots planned to make huge offer to Nick Caley last season
This isn't the first time Nick Caley has made the round as a potential candidate to join an NFL team as offensive coordinator. Last year, he was a solid candidate to join Jerod Mayo's staff on the New England Patriots. According to Albert Breer of SI, the Pats were ready to offer him a lucrative contract.
"Like, the contract they offered Nick Caley was a very healthy contract, so it makes sense that you would have the person who's negotiating that contract in there," Brewer had said in September. "Now, Nick Caley turned it down, but (it was) a very healthy contract for a first-time coordinator. So, the fact that you would have the person who's writing that contract in the room does make some sense."
The Jets could start a new and positive era with Aaron Glenn leading the project. He must bring in the right pieces to maximize his chances or repeat the seemingly non-stopping cycle.
