Rams legend Aaron Donald reveals if he will unretire for another NFL season after illustrious 10-year career

Dominant from his first day in the league, Aaron Donald had a 10-year career. In all of them, he was in the Pro Bowl, in eight he was elected to the First-Team All-Pro, and in three he was named the Defensive Player Of The Year (DPOY).

The impact he could make on a game left offensive coordinators having nightmares at night, and putting just one player to block him was actively working against their own offense. His retirement left a huge void not only on the Los Angeles Rams, but in NFL fans as a whole.

He retired relatively young, with just 33 years of age. For those who might dream of Donald returning to the game, however, you can unstrap your seatbelts. The former NFL superstar is adamant that his days as an NFL player are over, as he said during his appearance at The Pivot Podcast.

I don't have the passion to play football anymore. I'm a guy that trains all year round. I might take a week off after the season's over, and I'm in a weight room I'm training again. So it's non-stop work for me. You get exhausted after a while. I don't have the urge to do that all year round anymore. I just don't have the urge to play football, all right? This amount of money on the table... I can just get that, and be done, and just get. But that's not the way I'm built, that's not the way I am, and I can't disrespect the game, because it did so much good for me.

Aaron Donald: a sure-fire first-ballot Hall of Famer

He'll be a first-ballot inductee without a doubt. Aaron Donald was perhaps overlooked during the draft as his smaller frame scared teams from picking him so high, but for ten years, Donald was dominant in the NFL - he's one of the best defensive players of all time.

He led the NFL in sacks in 2018, a very rare feat for a player who plays on the interior of the defensive line and not as an EDGE, such as Myles Garrett or Nick Bosa. He was part of the All-Decade Team. He did practically everything he should do to be remembered as a legend, and will be from now on.
