Superfan was confused with former Ravens star
Many Baltimore Ravens fans confused the passing of superfan Chuck with former safety Chuck Clark. #RIPChuck was trending on social media, and fans thought that the former Baltimore player had died by suicide.
Yet it turned out to be a hoax as the free safety was confused with the superfan.
Clark was selected by the franchise in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He played the first six seasons of his career with the team, starting 63 of the 96 games he appeared in.
Clark had five interceptions, four forced fumbles and three-and-a-half sacks over the course of his time with the team. Baltimore traded Clark this offseason to the New York Jets.
Despite news of his death going viral on social media, the former Virginia Tech star is alive and ready to play for the Jets this upcoming season.
