Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews hit the lowest of lows during last Sunday's AFC divisional playoff game. In Sunday's 27-25 loss to the Buffalo Bills, Andrews dropped what would have been a game-tying two-point conversion with 1:33 left in the game.
This was the second drop that Andrews had in the game after not dropping a pass targeted to him in the previous 12 games. He also lost a fumble in the same quarter.
Following the devestating loss, Andrews declined to speak to the media and didn't address the situation until four days later (today.) He took to Instagram to address the sitatuon.
Andrews wrote:

"It's impossible to adequately express how I feel. I'm absolutely gutted by what happened on Sunday. I'm devestated for my teammates, my coaches, and Ravens fans. I pour every ounce of my being into playing at the highest level possible because I love my team and the game of football like nothing else. That is why it's taken me until now to collect my thoughts and address this publicly.
"Even though the shock and disappointment are unlike anything I've ever felt before, I refuse to let the situation define me. I promise that this adversity will only make me stronger and fuel us as we move forward. I thank everyone who has shown me and our team genuine support these last few days.
"Despite the negativity, I've seen heartfelt love and encouragement, including from those who have generously donated to the Breakthrough T1D organization. Even when the moment seems darkest, perspective can reveal that there's still a lot of light in this world. I'm now going to do my part to bounce back and contribute to it."
Andrews was receiving death threats from fans and has been highly criticized as being the main reason for the Ravens' loss. To show support for the hate that he has been receiving, many Bills fans have donated to his charity, "Breakthrough T1D."
Mark Andrews is entering the final year of his contract
Prior to the 2021-2022 season, Mark Andrews signed a four-year, $56 million extension including $37.6 million guaranteed with the Baltimore Ravens. He is set to enter the final year of his current deal this upcoming season.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Ravens head coach Jim Harbaugh backed Andrews and said that he has plans of Andrews being a big part of the team's future.
Harbaugh said on Wednesday:
"Mark is a huge part of our future and we love him and we're there for him. If anybody can take a tough circumstance like that and handle it with class, grace, dignity and mental toughness, it's most definitely Mark Andrews."
In his seven seasons in the NFL, Andrews has 436 receptions for 5,530 yards, and a Ravens franchise record of 51 touchdowns. He's been named to three Pro Bowls and was a 2021 First-Team All-Pro.
