Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is once again defying an NFL rule when he took to the field in Sunday's Week 16 matchup against the Washington Commanders. Hurts wore two different colored cleats last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers and was fined by the NFL.

Despite the fine, Hurts decided to wear the cleats again, one that's dark green and the other which is a lighter shade of the same color. The two-time Pro Bowl QB took to the field for warmups and shocked many NFL fans with his choice of cleats.

Fans on social media were divided with some supporting his choice while others were upset that he decided to once again ignore the league's rule.

"my glorious QB is rebellious," a fan tweeted.
"Suspend him and don’t let him play in the game today. Unacceptable," another fan wrote.

The fans on X who supported Hurts didn't understand why he was breaking a league rule. Some said that the two different shades of green represented the different eras of the Philadelphia Eagles.

"1 Midnight Green cleat, 1 Kelly Green cleat. I don't see a problem with this at all. Besides, they ARE team colors of the Eagles,"one fan said.
"f*** that fine," a fan commented.
"Hurts' confidence shines brighter than fines," another fan wrote.

NFL fans who weren't in favor of Jalen Hurts continuing to break an NFL rule shared their grievances. One fan suggested a suspension for the remainder of the regular season while another said that NFL penalties aren't strict enough. Some agreed that a $5,000 fine is nothing compared to players' salaries.

"He hasn’t learned his lesson I say suspend him the rest of the year," one fan commented.
"$5000 is like $5 to him," another fan wrote.
"That’s wrong. Stricter penalties," a fan said.

Jordan Brand will pay Jalen Hurts' NFL fine

Jalen Hurts is a Jordan Brand athlete and the cleats he wore last week which led to an NFL fine were made by the brand. The NFL handed Hurts a fine of $5,628 for violating the league's uniform and equipment rules and the league considered the two different green cleats not one of the Eagles' "constitutional team colors."

Jordan Brand announced that it will pay Hurts' fine so that he can continue to wear the cleats.

"You can't ban greatness," Jordan Brand said in a statement on Sunday, via Don Kleiman.

The star quarterback took things further with his gameday outfit as it was also in two different shades.
