After being traded from the Indianapolis Colts, Carson Wentz was released by the Washington Commanders after only one season. This decision will save the Commanders $26.176 million in salary cap space, which might be beneficial.

The Commanders will start Sam Howell as their starting quarterback next season, so cutting Wentz was a no-brainer. Fans on Reddit mocked Wentz's release and compared his fortune to that of WWE star Kevin Nash.

Moreover, his meltdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the final regular season game of the 2021/2022 NFL season turned out to be his final game for the Indianapolis Colts.

Expectations were high after he was traded to the Washington Commanders, but things didn't work out owing to injuries and poor performances on the field. Eric Bieniemy, the Commanders' new offensive coordinator, will now work with Howell as his quarterback.

It's disappointing to watch how Wentz's NFL career has turned out. Especially given that he was an excellent quarterback coming out of college and played well for the Eagles before getting hurt.

It will be fascinating to see what the future holds for him. A team with quarterback health concerns, such as the Miami Dolphins, may look to bring him in as a backup. Wentz would likely play well with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

The future is indeed uncertain for Wentz and it feels that if he does get another chance as a starter, it could be his last.
