Rob Gronkowski takes dig at Travis Kelce

There has been an ongoing debate about who is the greatest tight end ever between Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce. While Gronk dominated the sport like no other tight end in history, Kelce has changed the way people view the position.

Despite Gronk and Kelce being the same age, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is still playing at an exceptional level, whilst the former has already retired from the NFL twice.

Rob Gronkowski recently made an appearance on NESN's "Ultimate Betting Show" as part of Massachusetts' introduction of mobile betting on Friday. He looked like he was about to hand the title of the greatest tight end of all time to Kelce, but quickly reclaimed it.

Here's what Gronk said about Kelce:

“I said receiving tight end," Gronk said, "I’m a complete tight end, baby.”

There is no doubt that Gronk is one of the best to ever do it; he has won four Super Bowls. Travis Kelce has only won two Super Bowls so far, but if he wins a few more while continuing to play at an exceptional level, he will undoubtedly be the best player ever at his position.

As of now, the GOAT tight end debate is similar to the Jordan-LeBron debate in the NBA in which everyone has a valid point of view and no one can be declared the undisputed best at the position.

Rob Gronkowski is unlikely to play in NFL again

With Tom Brady now retired for good, it seems highly unlikely that Rob Gronkowski will return to the NFL. There were rumors surrounding his return last season, but the tight end ultimately ended up not playing.

Many expected Gronk to join Brady on a new team for the 2023-24 NFL season, but the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback's retirement put an end to that idea.

Gronk is undoubtedly a future Hall of Famer and will be remembered for years to come. Over the course of his career, he had 621 catches for 9,286 yards and scored 93 touchdowns in 11 seasons for the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While his return to the field is unlikely, we will undoubtedly see the famous tight end in the broadcasting space for many years to come.
