Rob Gronkowski shared his thoughts on Mike Vrabel becoming the new head coach of the New England Patriots. The former Tennessee Titans coach is set to return to Foxborough, where he played from 2001 through 2008, won three Super Bowls, and became a First-team All-Pro and Pro-Bowler.
On Fox NFL Sunday, Gronkowski reacted to the news of Vrabel's signing, first telling fans what to expect from the former linebacker.
"Let me tell you, Patriots fans, I'm thrilled. He will keep everyone accountable in the organization, from the coaching staff to the players, he's gonna keep himself accountable and even the front office he's gonna keep accountable," Gronkowski said. "Let me tell you once again, this guy has the knowledge and he has the power to be great."
More than that, he said that Mike Vrabel should make a quick call before anything to appoint his offensive coordinator.

"If I'm Mike Vrabel, the first thing I would do is call up the number of Josh McDaniels, a familiar face to Patriots fans, and hire him as the offensive coordinator as soon as possible."
Josh McDaniels has been an NFL coach since 2001 and his success with the New England Patriots has been unmatched. He was the offensive coordinator of the team that won 16 of its 16 regular season games in 2007. He helped the team win six Super Bowls with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, and Gronkowski is now pushing for him to return and team up with Vrabel.
McDaniels' last stop in the NFL was with the Las Vegas Raiders, a team he coached from 2022 through 2023. He went 9-16 in 25 games in charge.
Former teammate explains how different Mike Vrabel will be compared to Jerod Mayo
Mike Reiss of ESPN shared the words of Tedy Bruschi about what to expect from his former teammate Mike Vrabel now that he's in charge of one of the most iconic franchises in the NFL.
"When they hired Jerod [Mayo], at the press conference, a big word that was used was 'collaboration.' Everybody's input and all that stuff; well, I don't know how much it is that anymore. And I think that's a good thing.
"Because Vrabel isn't going to joke around, Vrabel is going to tighten the screws. In my opinion, there are some people in the front office that need to be told, 'You don't know what you're doing and you need to take a step back.'"
Bruschi goes on to say he loves Vrabel's hiring and hopes things change within the team under the new coach.
