New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft says Tom Brady broke down in tears when they finalized his break-up with the team. Brady left New England to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020.

Brady was the face of the Patriots for decades as he led the team to six Super Bowls. So, leaving the franchise was difficult and Kraft said the quarterback was crying when it all happened.

"He lived down the street from me. (He) came to my house and I opened the door. He started crying," Kraft said on The Breakfast Club. "And he hugged me and he said, ‘I’ve made a decision. I’m gonna leave the Patriots after 20 years.’ We normally would’ve franchised someone like that… but I kept my word to him. And it was one of the worst days— it’s like losing a child."

Kraft said he told Brady he wouldn't franchise tag him if he wanted to leave and the quarterback decided to move on from New England.

But, it was an emotional moment as Kraft said Brady was crying and despite him leaving, he says Brady is still part of his family.

"He cried that whole time when he had to leave us. I understood it. He lived under an arrangement that was very difficult for him the last decade… He’s an amazing human being. He’s part of my family, to this day and I love him dearly," Kraft added.

Brady is the greatest Patriot of all time and has been inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame.

NFL owners are expected to approve Tom Brady as minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday, according to CNBC. Brady is looking to buy 10% of the Raiders with his business partner.

The deal is pending 24 of 32 NFL owners approving the sale at the league meeting in Atlanta on Tuesday, but that is not expected to be a problem.

Brady has attempted to be a minority owner in the Raiders since May 2023 but it has been held up because some owners felt the initial offer was too discounted.

Should Tom Brady become a minority owner of the Raiders, he still would be allowed to broadcast their games.

However, he would not be permitted to attend in-person or online production meetings, as well as not being allowed to have access to the team's facilities, players or coaches.
