The New York Jets have fired head coach Robert Saleh. The 45-year-old became the team's head coach in 2021 and was let go with one year left on his deal.
Saleh had a record of 20-36 in four seasons with the Jets and failed to make the playoffs in each of his four seasons.
After a 2-3 start to the NFL season, Jets owner Woody Johnson reportedly informed Saleh of his decision this morning. The team will have a new head coach for their Week 6 game against the Buffalo Bills.
Fans on social media believe that Aaron Rodgers played a part in the Jets' decision to fire Saleh. Here's how they reacted:

Saleh is more known for being a great defensive coordinator, and under his tenure, the team looked great defensively. The Jets' defense has given up an average of 17.0 points and 284.4 total yards per game this season.
Robert Saleh fired: Jets make decision on interim HC
After firing Robert Saleh, the Jets have made Jeff Ulbrich their interim head coach. He has been the Jets' defensive coordinator since 2021 and will lead the team until a new head coach is hired.
As for Saleh, he will be highly sought after by teams across the league for the defensive coordinator role. The San Francisco 49ers might also bring him back in some capacity, as he was well-loved and respected there.
