The New York Jets suffered their fifth straight loss on Sunday. Playing a divisional game against the New England Patriots, Aaron Rodgers' team again failed to capitalize on their leads built throughout the match, and were upset by a Patriots team that finished the game with Jacoby Brissett under center.

This was the perfect opportunity for the Jets to make a positive note out of their season. After four straight losses, a win against an old nemesis, whom they've beaten soundly in Week 3, could ease some of the concerns around the team. But allowing 18 second-half points to an offense led by a backup quarterback was far from the ideal.

Although Aaron Rodgers had a solid game (17/28, 233 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions), the defense couldn't stop the Patriots' running game, who scored three touchdowns and controlled the trenches. With so many recent moves and still no wins to show since, NFL fans were harsh on the team after the loss:

"He tried to be Tom Brady and go to another team thinking he could have instant success", said one fan.
"Going 0-3 since getting Robert Saleh fired, while being favored in 2 of those games, is nasty work", noted another.
"So now they've sacked Saleh and haven't won a game since, was Saleh the problem?" a third fan asked.

After firing Robert Saleh post-Week 5, the New York Jets have played three game and lost all of them. Sitting at 2-6, the team is now four games behind the Buffalo Bills (6-2) in the AFC East, and it looks increasingly likely that a late season run will be needed if they still want to make the playoffs.

What are Aaron Rodgers' stats for the Jets in the 2024 season?

After eight games for the Jets in 2024, the veteran quarterback now has 12 touchdowns, 7 interceptions, 1896 passing yards and a 61.6% completion rate.

These are hardly great numbers, but when you compare him to other quarterbacks, he does look like a star. Aaron is the first quarterback to throw 10 touchdowns in a single season for the Jets since the 2019 season, and mind you, they used a top-three pick on a quarterback in 2021.

Although his mobility is affected and he does not look like the same player he was in Green Bay, the stats show this version of Rodgers is still better than any of the recent poor run of quarterbacks that New York fans had to endure recently.
