Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh Steelers may have locked a playoff spot on Sunday, but they were no match for Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in the battle of Pennsylvania. The Eagles easily dominated the game between the state rivals and ended the Steelers' two-win streak.
The 27-13 score does not show how much Philadelphia dominated. The Steelers mustered just 163 total yards on offense, their lowest number in 14 years. Apart from a few good plays, they lacked rhythm and consistency to really fight for the game.
Wilson wasn't satisfied with how his team played on Sunday. Speaking at a press conference right after the end of the game, the quarterback highlighted the Eagles' dominance, but also urged the Steelers to steady the ship before the start of the postseason:
"They played way better than us tonight. It was unacceptable how we played. I think we feel like we’ve got to be sharper."

Pittsburgh was able to lock in a playoff spot even with the loss because of losses from other AFC contenders. While the Baltimore Ravens won, and the fight for the AFC North remains alive, defeats by the Indianapolis Colts and the Miami Dolphins have secured, at least, the 7th-seed for the franchise.
Russell Wilson ends winning streak against the Philadelphia Eagles
Since being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2012, the quarterback had a perfect record against the franchise, with five wins in the regular season and another one in the playoffs in 2019.
This was his first loss. He did not play against the Eagles as a member of the Denver Broncos, with whom he spent the previous two seasons. The last Eagles-Broncos game happened in 2021, when he was still a member of the Seattle Seahawks.
In Sunday's game, he had 128 passing yards, 14 completed passes out of 28 attempts, with one touchdown and no interceptions. Wide receiver George Pickens did not play in this game, and Wilson had trouble finding open receivers due to the Eagles' defense having a great game.
Pittsburgh have a crucial Saturday showdown against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday.
