Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles continued their remarkable 2024 NFL season with a commanding win against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17. The Eagles bounced back after a tumultuous campaign last year, becoming one of the NFC's best teams and clinching the NFC East for the second time in the last three years.

Barkley played a huge role in their success, as he was a major improvement to D'Andre Swift, who left for the Chicago Bears, opening the door for Barkley, who was already great with the Giants but never reached this level of success. After the 41-7 win over Dallas was consummated on Sunday, the veteran running back took a jab at his former team while celebrating the division title.

“I’m happy. It’s my first hat and T-shirt game. I didn’t even know that was a thing," he said after becoming an NFC East champion for the first time in his career.

During the six years he spent with the Giants, Barkley finished fourth (5-11) in 2018, second (8-8) in 2019, second (6-10) in 2020, fourth (4-13) in 2021, third (9-7) in 2022 and third (6-11) in 2023.

As soon as he landed in Philadelphia, he elevated the Eagles' game, played at the highest level of his career and secured his first division title in seven years.

Despite losing to the Washington Commanders in the final seconds in Week 16, they bounced back on Sunday and made a huge statement against the Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field.

Saquon Barkley went off on Cowboys, got closer to Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record

Saquon Barkley put on a show on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, even though he didn't find the end zone. Barkley was on a mission, as he carried the ball 31 times, tallying 167 yards.

DeVonta Smith (two touchdowns) and A.J. Brown (one touchdown reception) were Kenny Pickett and Tanner Mckee's favorite targets today, especially in the end zone.

Barkley caught two passes but racked up only 2 yards.

The performance put the veteran closer to breaking Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record.

Barkley, in his seventh season, became only the ninth player in NFL history to surpass the 2,000-yard mark and is now 100 yards away from tying Dickerson's 1984 record (2,105 yards). If Saquon Barkley runs for 101 more yards, he'd break Dickerson's record in a full-circle moment, doing so against the team that refused to pay what he demanded.
