Sauce Gardner, Antonio Brown endorse Donald Trump after attempted assassination of former president

Former United States President Donald Trump was a victim of an attempted assassination on Saturday during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner and former wide receiver Antonio Brown were among those in the football world who showed their support for Trump after the incident.

Antonio Brown tweeted:

"It’s Over - Trump 2024 #CTESPN."

Sauce Gardner tweeted:

"Ladies & gentlemen....President Donald Trump."

Coming to the incident, Trump put his right hand on the back of his right ear as gunshots were heard in the vicinity. He appeared to have blood coming out of his ear and was quickly escorted by the Secret Service off the stage. Before leaving, Trump raised his fist as the American crowd gave him a standing ovation.

Trump is reportedly doing 'fine'; however, there were two victims, including the shooter. Two others were transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The news of Donald Trump being shot made global news, with many people showing their support regardless of their stance on the former president. NFL Network reporter Rich Eisen thanked the Secret Service for how they handled the situation.

"Thank you to the heroes of the Secret Service who threw themselves into what appeared to be a hail of bullets. Find whoever did this and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. None of this is OK. Praying for everyone there in Butler PA," Eisen said in his tweet.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes retweeted Eisen's tweet, while Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker tweeted:

"Pray for our country."
