The Seattle Seahawks were able to get close in the game against the San Francisco 49ers, as their rivals started the game with a 16-0 lead with four scores before Mike Macdonald's team scored a field goal and two touchdowns to keep themselves just one possession behind.

The play that kickstarted Seattle's resurgence happened early in the third quarter, right after the 49ers scored another touchdown to take the score to 23-3. A kickoff to Laviska Shenault saw the former first-round pick turn on the jets and go all the way to the endzone for only the second kickoff TD in 2024.

Seahawks fans loved to see Shenault, whose career never panned out as expected in the NFL, making a huge play in a game where they definitely needed to come back:

One of the biggest disappointments for NFL fans on X/Twitter over the past few years, Shenault has found himself a home in Seattle for this offseason. He was a cut candidate prior to the 53-man roster cuts but his returning ability made him a late option to the list

The former Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers wide receiver is a dynamic weapon, but his fundamentals never developed enough for him to be a regular starter in the NFL. He's hoping to lock himself a great comeback story just like Geno Smith.

Seahawks rebuilding careers: how did Geno Smith became their franchise quarterback?

Geno was drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft. He spent four years with the franchise but failed to establish himself, also having stints with the New York Giants and the LA Chargers, both as a backup.

After signing with the Seahawks in 2019, he was Russell Wilson's backup until the 2021 season and took over the job in March 2022. His excellent performances proved that, while Wilson was a superstar, Seattle was right to hand the franchise keys over to him.

This is the second year of a three-year extension he signed with the franchise. Shenault's hope is to make Seattle his home after a torrid start to his career, just like Geno.
