Sean McVay heaps praise on Bills QB after historic outing against Rams - "Josh Allen is an alien"

Everyone in the NFL respects Josh Allen.

Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams had a difficult afternoon, but it was rewarding in the end. The head coach led his team to a memorable 44-42 win over the Buffalo Bills, staying just behind the Seattle Seahawks in the race for the NFC West.

Despite the Rams' win, it was another fantastic game for Allen. The Bills quarterback, who's the current favorite to take the MVP award once the regular season is over, finished the game with 22 completed passes out of 37 attempts, 342 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns and not a single turnover.

After the game, McVay recognized how much of a challenge Allen presented to his team, saying that the quarterback is out of this world:

This will go down as one of the best games of the season, with both teams trading punches for the entire afternoon before Los Angeles was able to close the game with another excellent offensive performance.

The Bills have already clinched the AFC East title, but the Rams are involved in a fierce fight with the Seattle Seahawks, with one game separating these two teams. However, they still have a head-to-head game scheduled for Week 18, and the Rams hold the tiebreaker advantages.

Josh Allen's stats in the 2024 season: Should the Bills quarterback win the MVP award?

In previous years, his excellent performances were a bit obfuscated due to Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers' brilliances, but it looks like 2024 could finally be the season where he's recognized as the MVP.

His numbers are outstanding. He has 3,033 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns, nine rushing touchdowns, just five interceptions and is completing 64.1% of his passes. There are no other quarterbacks playing at this level in 2024, and players from other positions have not won the MVP award since 2014.

Although Saquon Barkley is surging in the race, the Bills quarterback is pretty much isolated at the top, with -225 odds to take the trophy. He was the second most-voted player for the award in 2020, losing to Aaron Rodgers.
