Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland Browns may be down a player heading into the 2023-24 season. The team is concerned that wide receiver Michael Woods II may have torn his Achilles while working out in Texas with Watson.
NFL insider Josina Anderson broke the news early Tuesday and tests are being reviewed for the official diagnosis. Anderson tweeted:
"I'm told the #Browns have concern that WR Michael Woods II may have torn his Achilles while working out with QB Deshaun Watson in Texas, per league sources. Tests are being reviewed for the official diagnosis."

Woods II was selected by the Browns in the sixth-round of the 2022 NFL draft. He saw little time on the field in 2022, as he caught five passes for 45 yards. He was looking to play a bigger role in 2023, but that could be in jeopardy with the injury.

Deshaun Watson says he's going to bounce back in 2023
After a disappointing season in 2022, Deshaun Watson vowed to bounce back this season on his Instagram.
Watson wrote:
"I took a few losses, on MBK I'm bouncin' back‼️"
Watson and the Browns had a disappointing season last year. They finished in last place in the AFC North, and Watson played only six games as he set a career-low 58.2 percent of passes last season and a career-low 79.1 passer rating.
He underperformed for the five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed contract. He needs to play like he did earlier in his career where he led the league in passing yards a few seasons ago.
Losing Woods II won't help Watson and the team, but they'll have to address the situation with the next man-up approach.
