The Seattle Seahawks are gearing up for their matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and there are updates on the injury status of several players. The initial injury report on Wednesday showed two players out and a further eight restricted from training. However, five of the players who were restricted on Wednesday were elevated to full participation on Thursday.

D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Jordyn Brooks, Austin Blythe, and Gabe Jackson were the players who switched to full participation on Thursday. As a result, they should be able to participate in their matchup with the Cardinals this weekend.

Tyler Lockett participated fully on Thursday with his hamstring and rib issues. After tending to these problems last week, Lockett appeared healthy after practice. He will now take on an Arizona defensive unit that has allowed the fifth-most receptions to wideouts this campaign.

Lockett persevered despite his health issues in Week 8's matchup with the New York Giants, finishing with a touchdown and five receptions for 63 yards. Practice on Friday may provide more information about his imminent availability.

For the game in Week 8, Metcalf and Lockett were both thought to be game-time decisions, but both played. After being carted off in the Seahawks' Week 7 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, Metcalf's presence on the field was unexpected. But, as per head coach Pete Carroll, Metcalf is eager to play and doesn't need surgery.

Metcalf recovered in time to start last week, playing 40 snaps, catching six passes and scoring a touchdown. He said that despite being carried off the field in Los Angeles due to a patella tendon issue, it was never really a concern in his mind. Here's what he said to reporters on Wednesday:

"Since I believe in following through on my words, I told myself I was going to play, and I didn't attempt to put negative thoughts in my brain. Pete and everyone else were trying to protect me at all costs, so I had to persuade them that I would play."

Seattle's receiving yards and receptions leader is Lockett and Metcalf is second in both categories. Lockett has only missed two games in his eight-year career, while Metcalf, who is in his fourth year, is yet to miss a game.
