Jared Goff's Detroit Lions suffered a shock after their 48-42 defeat to Josh Allen's equally formidable Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The loss affected their chances of winning the tough NFC North by ending their 11-game winning streak and leading to the end of their one-game lead over their division rivals, the Minnesota Vikings.

The loss has made a Lions fan, actor Taylor Lautner, concerned. The "Twilight Star" expressed his concern on "Good Morning Football" on Tuesday.

“I'm admitting that I'm being a little hopeful, but I'm backing Aidan (Hutchinson)'s mentality," Lautner said. "And I think it's all going to come down to that Week 18 game (against the Minnesota Vikings). And I hope it doesn't.

"I hope we can seal it up before then. But I'm scared that it's going to come down to Week 18. We need to hold on. I mean, I would prefer to hold on to the one seed, but definitely hold on to the division.”

Pass rush specialist Aidan Hutchinson said on Taylor Lautner’s podcast "The Squeeze" earlier that he would return for the Super Bowl despite breaking his left leg if the Lions can make it that far.

Taylor Lautner referred to Hutchinson’s statement while emphasizing the Week 18 game against the Vikings.

As of now, the two teams are both 12-2 with three games left to play for each. The Vikings will play the Seahawks and the Packers, while the Lions will play the Bears and the 49ers in their next two games, respectively. They will collide for their final game on Jan. 5 at Ford Field in Detroit.

So, Lautner wants the crowd to cheer the team until the end.

“If we can have the crowd and Ford Field behind us, I think that's what can push us over the edge," Lautner said. "If we lose the division somehow, it's gonna be really, really tough. But I think we can hold on.”

Detroit Lions have a growing injury concern

Taylor Lautner wants his Detroit Lions to finish at No. 1. However, they have a few hurdles in between.

The Lions, who are tied with the Vikings and the Philadelphia Eagles atop the NFC, have a growing injury list with running back David Montgomery added to the bench this week. Stars like Aidan Hutchinson and linebacker Alex Anzalone are already on the bench for weeks courtesy of the physical brand of football Dan Campbell’s men play. They already have over 20 players on the list.
