Shannon Sharpe addresses Undisputed exit rumors in verbal sparring session vs Skip Bayless- “Clearly the bosses wanted you to offer an explanation”

NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe missed yesterday's edition of "Undisputed" and people began to criticize him for backing out of confronting Skip Bayless.

Bayless put up a tweet after Damar Hamlin's collapse that brought a lot of attention. Many even wanted Bayless to be fired by FOX Sports, but later Bayless clarified his tweet and apologized as well.

On today's episode, Sharpe made his return and the duo were involved in a heated exchange to start the show. Here's what Shannon Sharpe said to begin the proceedings:

"Skip tweeted something and although I disagree with the tweet, and hopefully Skip we take it down…”"

Skip Bayless interrupted Sharpe and said:

"I'm not gonna take it down because I stand by what I tweeted."

Sharpe replied:

"I mean, I cannot even get through a monologue without you interrupting. You could have came back so I thought it's just gonna bring up...

"I didn't want to yesterday, to get into a situation, with Mr. Hamlin was the issue we should be talking about him and not getting to you're not getting to your your tweet. That's what I was gonna do. But you can't even let me finish my opening monologue without you interrupting."

Bayless responded:

"I was under the impression you weren't going to bring this up because nobody here had a problem with that tweet."

Sharpe interjected:

"Clearly the bosses wanted you to offer an explanation."

It wasn't a good look for Skip Bayless, who is facing a lot of heat for his tweet about Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin. People wanted him gone, and he didn't do himself any justice by interrupting Sharpe.

Many look up to Shannon Sharpe, the Hall of Famer, and quite often we see people asking him on Twitter to keep Bayless in check.

Last month itself, both Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless were involved in a very heated exchange regarding Tom Brady. Sharpe was fed up with Bayless and managed to keep himself in control otherwise things could have gone south that day.

Bayless suggested that Sharpe was jealous of Brady's success in the NFL. This seemed beyond incredible, as Sharpe is an NFL Hall of Famer with an incredible career to his name that includes three Super Bowl victories.

Tensions are rising on a daily basis between the duo and it will be interesting to see if they will work things out going forward.
