Travis Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champion, dipped his toes in the acting world. His new FX show "Grotesquerie" premiered on Wednesday. Before the critics could have their say, Kelce’s mother, Donna, reviewed his acting and the NFL fans loved her unfiltered take.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has been in the movie-producing business for a while now. However, 2024 marks the year the 34-year-old is living out his acting dreams with a TV show and an upcoming movie with Adam Sandler.

However, his mother, Donna Kelce, in an interview with Variety suggested that Travis Kelce should focus on getting better.

“Sometimes parents want to fix things for their kids," she said. "But sometimes it’s better to just let them fail. You learn the most from things you don’t do well. Hopefully, if this is something he wants to do, he’ll get better at it.”

Fans couldn’t contain their amusement at the thought of Travis’ mother critiquing his acting in front of the world. The fans took to X (previously Twitter) to share their takes on the situation.

“She gives absolutely zero f--ks lmao.”
“Sneak dissing her son like this”
“Mama Kelce said... son, don't quit your day job,” wrote one fan.
“In the nicest way she said you s-ck at acting,” wrote another fan.

Several fans did not like the method employed by Donna Kelce; however, many fans saw this as motherly advice.

“The Kelce family keeps Travis humble,” wrote one fan.
“Maybe she means learn from your mistakes,” wrote another fan.

Director Ryan Murphy loves the acting chops of Travis Kelce

Even though Travis Kelce did not impress his mother too much, he did impress the show's director. In an interview with Deadline, director Ryan Murphy highlighted Kelce’s hard work.

“He (Travis Kelce) really was amazing,” said Murphy as per Deadline. “He worked with an acting coach for several months. He showed up off book. He knew everybody’s lines. He was so professional. He was so committed.”

The new Grotesquerie episodes will drop every Wednesday on FX at 10 PM ET/PT. The show will also be available to stream on Hulu the next day.
