Around 13 years ago, legendary NFL quarterback Steve McNair was murdered by his mistress in his home, who committed suicide right beside him, leaving the world in complete shock. After all, the former Baltimore Ravens QB was not the star everyone thought he was.
McNair had been a star in the making since college, paving his way to the NFL as a successful athlete. He announced his retirement in 2008, completing 13 years in the league.
In a turn of truly unsuspecting and gruesome events, McNair was killed a year later in 2009.

McNair, 36, was found dead besides 20-year-old Shael Kazemi. As per reports, the cause behind the murder-suicide was jealousy. Apparently, Kazemi — distressed by money trouble — shot McNair because she thought he was seeing a different woman behind her back. Ronal Serpas, Nashville's police chief, said:
"We can't put ourselves in the minds of people who do these terribly irrational acts, but we do believe there's evidence that she was spinning out of control"
Furthermore, the young woman positioned herself in such a manner, that she fell onto McNair's lap after shooting herself.
Kazemi left Iran as a teenager, meeting McNair in Nashville. The former NFL star was visiting a restaurant where she worked and gave him her phone number.
Her colleague, Brandon Millichamp, said good things about the Mississippi native:
"He was one of the nice guys who would talk to you, not like the other athletes".
However, other reports state that McNair had other mistresses at the same time. The retired athlete had a bachelor pad which ended up being a place for him to meet women.
Eventually, Kazemi found out about his relationship with 25-year-old Leah Ignagni. Reportedly, the Alcorn State product was with Ignani two days before she ended their lives. People concluded that not everyone knew what Steve McNair was up to, and there had to be aspects of his life hidden from everyone.
Is Steve McNair a part of the NFL Hall of Fame
While Steve McNair created quite the buzz during his active time in the league, he is not a part of the NFL Hall of Fame, never making it past the semifinals of the Hall of Fame ballot.
The highlight of his career, of course, was his 2003 MVP season.
The former Tennesse Titans star ended his career with 31,304 passing yards, 3,590 rushing yards, 174 passing touchdowns, 37 rushing touchdowns, and 119 interceptions.
That being said, Steve McNair might have some more time to make it to the Hall of Fame.
