The Tennessee Titans hold the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft and have the opportunity to select one of the top quarterbacks in the draft in either Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward. The question is, will they?

The Titans picked Will Levis in the second round of the 2023 draft, and he's been their main starter since but hasn't made his case as a long-term franchise quarterback, going 5-16 in his 21 starts.

Earlier this week, ESPN reporter Adam Schefter suggested that the Titans would likely not draft a quarterback with their first pick, as their president, Chad Brinker, said the team wouldn't pass up on a generational talent (Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter).

Speaking on ESPN's "First Take" on Thursday, analyst Stephen A. Smith thinks the Titans should do the opposite and draft a guy like Sanders or Ward.

"I’m not passing up on a quarterback when I got 'Mr. Mayonnaise,' Will Levis, at quarterback," Smith said. "That brother needs to go. I can’t tell my team that you know what, work your tail off, do all you can, because we’re trying to win, and I’m gonna have Will Levis as my quarterback.
“Shedeur Sanders ain’t no damn slouch. This brother has that 'It' factor.”

Levis came to be known as "Mr. Mayonnaise" after a video went viral showing him putting mayo in his coffee during last year's NFL scouting combine. He also signed a deal with popular brand Hellmann's and launched a mayo-themed cologne.

Schefter even said that as of Wednesday, he couldn't picture the Titans drafting a quarterback at No. 1.

“My understanding is that the Titans are not locked in on a quarterback at No. 1," Schefter said. "They’re going to review it, and we’ll see how the process plays itself out. But I don’t automatically assume today, January 22nd — three-plus months out of the draft — that we’re going to have a quarterback go No. 1 overall.”

Tennesse Titans have multiple options holding the No. 1 pick

Holding this year's No. 1 pick, the Tennessee Titans have multiple options for what they will do being in the position that they are in. The Titans could decide to move on from Will Levis, which could pave the way for them to draft Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward.

If Tennessee isn't confident in either of them being a franchise quarterback, it can do one of two things. The team can stay put at pick No. 1 and draft a "generational talent" such as Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter or Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter.

The Titans could also trade back with a QB-needy team such as the Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers or the New York Giants.
