New York Jets running back Michael Carter seems to have slipped from his starting position. Rookie RB Breece Hall has proven to be more efficient in the past three games. The Jets are back in the game and are currently 4-2 on the season.
Carter started five games out of the six he's played, showcasing a decent performance. Breece Hall, on the other hand, started for the Jets last week, rushing for 116 yards in 20 attempts and scoring one touchdown. Carter hasn't crossed the 100-yard mark in a single game this season and has only touched the endzone twice.

Should you drop Michael Carter in Week 7?
Michael Carter's game performance has been continuously showing a drop since Week 1. In his opening game, he had 10 carries and 17 touches, while in last week's game against the Packers, he had only six carries and seven touches. So far, he has 199 rushing yards in 53 attempts with two touchdowns in six games.
Breece Hall, on the other hand, is playing his rookie season and has started in just one game out of the six he's played. So far, he has 76 carries, 391 rushing yards, 95 touches, and a total of four touchdowns (three rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown).
Michael Carter started playing for the Jets in 2021 and had a fantasy score of 117 at the end of the season (averaging 8.4 FPTS per game). The projections show a very similar fantasy score for the current season too.
We recommend making him your backup and starting with another RB. Breece Hall seems like a better option to start with if you have him on your roster.
Beyond Michael Carter's lack of performance, his role in Robert Saleh's offense compromises him as a fantasy prospect. The offense, led by quarterback Zach Wilson, is largely centered around the passing game. Running backs Carter and Hall serve complementary roles in the outfit's pass attack that includes the likes of Elijah Moore, Garrett Wilson, Corey Davis, and Denzel Mims.
