The Dallas Cowboys announced on Thursday that CeeDee Lamb, their star wideout, will sit out the remainder of the season. For the Cowboys, there are just two games left in the season, but they are shutting Lamb down due to a shoulder injury that has hampered him during the second half of the season.
Lamb's injury is just one of several the Cowboys have had to deal with this season. Micah Parsons had been out for a few weeks which affected their defense. And then QB Dak Prescott, for whom they shelled out $240 million dollars and made him the highest-paid QB in the league, was ruled out for the season in November. Despite all this, the Cowboys have managed to maintain a 7-8 record.
Fans shared their reactions to the Cowboys shutting Lamb down early. One fan said that the team should have done so weeks ago, referring to his less-than-impressive performance.

Other fans also chimed in with their reactions to the news.
"Absolutely brutal for anyone in fantasy championships who were relying on starting him this week." one fan said.
"It's not going to change anything.. They wouldn't be in the superbowl anyway..." another fan said.
Meanwhile, a couple of fans wished Lamb the best.
"Wow hopefully this is just precautionary. Praying for CeeDee he’s busted his tail even in a bad situation" one fan hoped.
"What a shame I hope he comes back soon ❤️" another fan said.
Who will step in for injured CeeDee Lamb?
It will not be an easy thing to replace CeeDee Lamb. Jalen Tolbert and Brandin Cooks will take the spot as the Cowboys' leading wideouts for the last two games, along with Jalen Brooks, Ryan Flournoy and Jonathan Mingo. Kevin Harmon and Jalen Cooper might also be promoted from the team's practice squad.
CeeDee Lamb has been playing phenomenally so far; he became the league's third player to record 100 receptions in his first five seasons in the NFL. He has 101 catches (tied for second in the league) for 1,194 yards (third) and six touchdowns
In the upcoming weeks, the Cowboys will take on the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders. Should they win against both teams without Lamb, they will the end season with a winning 9-8 record.
