Simone Biles' husband Jonathan Owens crowns Olympic icon 'better athlete'

Jonathan Owens and his wife, Simone Biles, both come from sports backgrounds, having established a good name for themselves in their respective fields. However, when it comes to the question of who is the best athlete between them, Owens crowned that tag on his wife.

On Jan. 7, Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles tagged along for Sports Illustrated's Sportsperson of the Year award show. On Friday, SI released a clip of the couple's quick Q&A session on X, from the event’s red carpet appearance. When asked who's the best athlete among the two, Owens swiftly pointed his finger to Biles and replied:

"I’m not doing no backflips. Nah."

Another question that Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles asked was: "Who is the better cheerleader?" To this, Biles crowned Owens as a "better cheerleader," highlighting the fact that he's more attentive compared to her. In her reply, Biles said:

"Jonathan, he knows more and he really pays attention. After the first half, I lose track of the game."

"She'll hear everybody else yelling and she'll be like, 'What happened.' But you know, it's the thought that counts, I love it," Owens added to Biles' statement.

Simone Biles revealed the 'best gift' she received from husband Jonathan Owens

Simone Biles sat in an exclusive interview with Olympics.com on Dec. 22, during which the Olympian opened up about her personal life with her husband, Jonathan Owens. When asked about the best gift she has ever received from the Bears safety, Biles said:

"What's the best gift? Honestly, I'm not very materialistic. It's probably my weekly flowers. He buys me flowers every week, and that's my favorite. I wouldn't even say the best gift I've ever gotten him, because obviously that’d be me. Okay. But I feel like his favorite, and one that he's been wanting for so long, was a Rolex."

Currently, it's the offseason for Simone Biles, who's been preparing for her next Olympics appearance. Moving forward in the interview, Biles opened up about her daily schedule during the offseason and said:

"Oh, goodness. It depends. If I'm travelling, doing events, or staying home. If I'm staying home with the dogs, I'm usually cleaning up around the house and then prepping food for when Jonathan gets out of practice. So, a very lazy day."

Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles went to New York City earlier this week for an event. During a Monday dinner date, Biles shared a romantic moment with Owens, which she later posted on her social media.
