Who would have thought Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce's skyrocketing fame would attract burglars to their homes? In the first week of October, the Chiefs quarterback and the tight end's homes were invaded within a span of just 24 hours.
The New York Post reported the news, and NFL fans have all kinds of guesses on X (formerly Twitter) over the motive for the burglaries.

"I bet someone is looking for Super Bowl rings," one commented.
While a second fan wrote, "Do they not have better security?"
Another fan chimed in saying, "Hmm, this seems like it's the same burglar."
Both burglaries happened as the Chiefs were preparing to face the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 7.
Everything we know about the thefts at Mahomes' and Kelce's houses
As reported by the New York Post, Mahomes' Belton house in Missouri was invaded first. After a member of Mahomes' security team informed the authorities, Cass County Sheriff's Office categorized the incident in the “Burglary/Breaking & Entering" category. Surprisingly, there were zero signs of any kind of forced entry. The investigation is ongoing.
Kelce's home in Leawood, Kansas, was targeted next--less than 24 hours later. The incident happened around the time the Monday Night Football game between the Chiefs and Saints in Week 5 kicked off.
While burglars seemingly couldn't get their hands on anything at Mahomes' home, Kelce was less fortunate. Reportedly $20,000 was stolen and the back door of the property was damaged. The aftermath of the break-in allegedly even led Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift to shift to a hotel for safety reasons.
As published by the Business Journals, Kelce bought his Leawood home in Kansas City last year in October for $6 million. He moved forward with the plush purchase after starting to date Swift to seek some privacy from the paparazzi.
On the other hand, Mahomes and his wife, Brittany first purchased land in Beldon four years ago. They built the property they currently reside on that land.
