Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is concerned with the Steelers offense heading into the 2024 season. On his "Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger" podcast, he spoke about his concerns for the team's wide receiver group in 2024.
Roethlisberger said that George Pickens is the only proven receiver, and the team should have kept Diontae Johnson or used him in a trade to try and acquire San Francisco 49ers' Brandon Aiyuk. He asked who would be the Steelers' number two wide receiver behind Pickens.
After hearing their former quarterback talk about the state of the team's wide receiver corps, fans agreed with Roethlisberger and sided with his frustration.

"He's right," another fan wrote.
"Concerning. They had to address the OLine and filling the WR situation. It’s going to be interesting to sit back and watch how this unfolds as it’s currently put together," one fan wrote.
"Have faith. We will be fine," one optimistic fan wrote.
Looking at Steelers' WR depth chart
Heading into the 2024 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers have one of the least-talented wide receiver groups in the NFL.
George Pickens will serve as the WR1 for the Steelers this season. Van Jefferson will be the WR2 outside the opposite field. WR3 behind Pickens will be rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson out of Michigan. Calvin Austin is expected to be WR4 as the team's primary slot-wide receiver.
The Steelers also have Scotty Miller on the depth chart, serving as the team's fifth wide receiver.
Pickens is the clear No. 1 wide receiver as he's recorded 115 catches for 1,941 yards and nine touchdowns in his first two seasons in the NFL. In five seasons, Jefferson has 113 receptions for 1,600 yards and 10 touchdowns. Wilson is a rookie that the Steelers used their third-round pick on this year, and they're expecting to be a featured receiver this season.
Austin didn't play his rookie year in 2022 but saw limited action last season, recording 180 receiving yards and scoring two offensive touchdowns. Miller has 85 career receptions for 1,085 yards and six touchdowns.
