The Pittsburgh Steelers ended another season in disappointing fashion. The AFC North team was easily handled by their rivals during the AFC Wild Card Round, losing 28-14 on the back of an awful first-half performance, ending their season in ugly fashion.
It was another game where their offense felt predictable at times, with Russell Wilson struggling to consistently pass the ball and the running game not established. On the other hand, the Ravens had all kinds of explosive plays with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, and when they needed it, the passing game also worked.
NFL fans were unhappy to see another season where Pittsburgh finished with a positive record, but couldn't do anything productive in the playoffs. The message was clear in their comments: the Mike Tomlin era should end.

"Fire Mike Tomlin. Steelers fans don’t deserve this. This team is an embarrassment", said one fan.
"Fire Mike Tomlin. It's time, the same outcome every season", said another.
"Fire Mike Tomlin into the f***ing sun. I hate this guy more than anything on Earth. The biggest loser in the NFL", a third said.
Steelers' recent playoff record under Mike Tomlin is concerning
With the loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh ended another season in disappointing fashion. After a successful start to his tenure as their head coach in 2007, with a championship and another Super Bowl appearance in just four years, it appears Tomlin's powers have waned.
Their last playoff win came in the 2016 season, when they made it to the AFC Championship Game before being defeated by the New England Patriots. Since then, Pittsburgh made the postseason five times, and they have not won a single game on these occasions:
- 2016: Lost the AFC Championship Game to Patriots 36-17
- 2017: Lost the AFC Divisional Round to Jaguars 45-42
- 2020: Lost the AFC Wild Card Round to Browns 48-37
- 2021: Lost the AFC Wild Card Round to Chiefs 42-21
- 2023: Lost the AFC Wild Card Round to Bills 31-17
- 2024: Los the AFC Wild Card Round to Ravens 28-14
Ben Roethlisberger's retirement has made the situation difficult for Pittsburgh, with the lack of quality in the quarterback position not helping the Steelers in the biggest games of the year.
