Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers could be on the move this offseason and one team he could possibly join is the New York Jets.

Rodgers has been rumored to be on the trade block and the Packers reportedly won't trade him to an NFC team.

ESPN's "First Take" analyst Stephen A. Smith spoke about a possible scenario in which Rodgers could join the New York Jets this offseason. If that were to play out, Smith thinks Rodgers' confidence would be destroyed in New York.

Smith said:

"We've liked what we've seen from Garrett Wilson. And so when I'm looking at it, from that perspective alone with Corey Davis and Conklin and others, and what they bring to the table, and a defense, that is real and big time, I think that along with a New York market that would hold Rogers accountable far more than Green Bay, Wisconsin.
"That's a different animal. Because when you're in that kind of pub, when you're in that kind of spotlight, when you have the New York contingent breathing down upon you, it didn't mean two beat writers, but it's 20."

He added that the New York media is far different than smaller Wisconsin-based media such as Green Bay/Milwaukee.

Smith added:

"It ain't a couple of TV cameras, but it's about 30. What did they just you know, ESPN First Take when we bring you up and and some radio pundits in Wisconsin, but it's a national audience, because it's the media capital of the world. You understand, when you got that going on.
"You don't get to be a bit laissez faire, you don't get to tell people relax. You don't get to walk the streets of New York City, when you're supposed to have expectations placed upon you that you don't live up to you can get away with that."

Aaron Rodgers would make the New York Jets a contender

If Aaron Rodgers were to join the New York Jets, he would make them a contender in the AFC.

Last season, they finished 7-10 in a competitive AFC East but showed signs of improvement from the seasons prior.

They have young, talented playmakers in running back Breece Hall, wide receiver Garrett Wilson and cornerback Sauce Gardner, who earned first-team All-Pro honors as a rookie.

The team managed to win seven games with lousy QB play from Zach Wilson, Mike White and Joe Flacco.

With Aaron Rodgers, the Jets would certainly have a better offense led by a veteran with plenty of playoff experience. He could help them compete for the division and a chance at the Super Bowl in the AFC.
