NFL fans unleashed harsh criticism at Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni. The reactions poured in following a heated postgame altercation with Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz, which occurred after Philadelphia's 36-33 loss at Northwest Stadium on Sunday.

The confrontation required Eagles chief security officer Dom DiSandro to step in and escort Sirianni into the tunnel.

According to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, tensions flared when Ertz took exception to Sirianni's comments about his performance. The three-time Pro Bowler managed just one catch for 12 yards on two targets.

Sirianni's previous praise of Ertz before their Week 11 matchup makes the altercation more surprising. He had called Ertz "an all-time Eagle" and spoke about "really valuing" their time together.

Fans expressed their frustration with Sirianni's behavior.

"Sirianni is such a loser. He was offended by a high five? After losing? Philly cant be paying Big Dom enough to try and control this child," a fan commented.
"This why I hate Sirianni. He should have been fired after last season. He's an immature child and a shitty coach," another fan said.
"We’ve all had enough of Big Dom already," a fan wrote.

Others pointed to deeper concerns about the Eagles' future.

"So glad that clown of a coach is the face of that shit franchise. He proves every week why he will never make another SB," one fan commented.
"Sirianni might actually be retarded," another fan wrote.
"Holy shit that guys a loser," a fan said.

Nick Sirianni's rocky history with Eagles legend

The Eagles coach has attempted to patch things up with his former player. Jeff McLane reported that Nick Sirianni apologized to Zach Ertz via Zoom call after the incident.

Their brief but significant history dates back to 2021. Ertz played just six games under Sirianni before being traded to Arizona. The TE left Philadelphia as a franchise legend, ranking second all-time with 579 receptions and fifth with 6,267 receiving yards.

The timing of this clash adds extra spice to a potential playoff matchup between the teams. DiSandro's peacekeeping role also drew attention, coming months after his sideline ban for a scuffle with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw.

Sirianni's recent praise of Ertz to Sunday's confrontation has left many questioning the coach's temperament as Philadelphia heads toward another postseason run.
