Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins' mom took issue with NFL referees after a questionable call in favor of Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes against the Houston Texans on Saturday. With 1:41 left on the clock, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback ran with the football and decided to slide late, causing two Texans defenders to clash with one another.
Even so, the defenders got a flag for unnecessary roughness, raising plenty of eyebrows on social media. Higgins' mom was among those unhappy with the decision, as she took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her disappointment with the referees.
"That was a bogus call lmao here we go," she said.

"Broadcasters even speaking on how the refs favor that red team smdh," she added.
To make things worse, the drive ended in a Travis Kelce touchdown. Not only Tee Higgins' mom but other fans criticized this decision. This wasn't the first time fans thought referees made a wrong call, as they previously criticized them for missing a hip-drop tackle against Kansas City.
Lil Wayne, Skip Bayless and J.J. Watt among those criticizing unnecessary roughness call
Besides Tee Higgins' mom, other high-profile people reacted to Patrick Mahomes getting a call that nobody but the referees saw. Rapper Lil Wayne sent a NSFW message on X/Twitter, saying he hated the Chiefs.
"I hate the cheating azz chiefs," he wrote.
Skip Bayless, a friend of Wayne and one of the most polarizing analysts in the world of sports, couldn't believe what he witnessed.
"WHAT?????? THE TEXANS HIT EACH OTHER, NOT MAHOMES. JUST GO AHEAD AND GIVE MAHOMES THIS GAME. THIS IS PATHETIC. I GUESS THE NFL WANTS TO MAKE SURE THE SWIFTIES WILL WATCH ANOTHER WEEK," Bayless wrote.
Last but not least, former Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt laughed at the referees' decision while joking about how the play unfolded.
"They hit each other!!! Cmonnnn man," Watt wrote.
In the end, the Chiefs secured the win and advanced to yet another AFC Championship game.
