You'd expect teams to be a little more competitive when arguably the greatest performer of her generation is gracing the halftime show. Alas, with Beyoncé in attendance, the Houston Texans embarrassed themselves against the Baltimore Ravens.
Despite having arguably the league's best pass rush duo in Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter, the Texans failed to slow down Lamar Jackson, who looked like a man on a mission to take home the MVP crown and Derrick Henry, who rushed for 147 yards (and a tuddie) at will.
After the game, Hunter, who signed a two-year, $49 million contract with the Texans this summer, had a few things to say about how they went about their business.
“They’re great football players. Lamar is a dual threat. Derrick Henry, he’s the best of the best for his position. So I feel like the biggest thing we could do was just game plan better,” Hunter told KPRC 2's Aaron Wilson.

Hunter went on to once again stress that the game plan was sorely lacking against a team with so many elite playmakers.
Where Week 17 defeat leaves Houston Texans in the NFL playoff picture
The Texans' spot in the playoffs is not exactly under threat. They currently figure to be the fourth seed in the AFC despite the 31-2 loss to Baltimore. At 9-7, they have already clinched the AFC South.
They are followed by the Pittsburgh Steelers, who also fell to an embarrassing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day. Two spots are still up for grabs in the AFC Playoff Picture. The Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos are currently projected to slot into those spots, though the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals also have an outside chance of sneaking in.
In any case, regardless of what happens in the playoffs next month, the Texans will have a lot to answer for after the season draws to a close. While they have faced numerous injuries including to key players like Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell, the fact that CJ Stroud looks like a shell of himself from last year will raise concerns about the direction of this offense under offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.
