Derrick Henry and the Baltimore Ravens came into this Christmas matchup against DeMeco Ryans' Houston Texans buoyed by the Kansas City Chiefs' earlier win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes got the better of Mike Tomlin and Russell Wilson, the Ravens knew a win against the Texans would fortify their position atop the AFC North where they are currently tied with the Steelers.
Derrick Henry decided that he was going to put the team on his back and make sure Baltimore got the win in Houston. He scored a touchdown on the first drive to make the score 7-0. That itself is not a surprise given how good of a player the running back is but what was inexplicable was that the Texans had 10 players on defense when he ran into the endzone.
Such an amateurish mistake with the playoffs coming up was not appreciated by Houston supporters. They took to X/Twitter to slam the head coach for not preparing his charges properly. Here are some of the reactions.

Most fans kept reiterating that message as they could not believe that DeMeco Ryans could make such a mistake against a running back like Derrick Henry. Here are some more responses from the social media platform.
"We are so poorly coached it’s not even funny" - wrote one.
"This is the worst I’ve seen a DeMeco’s Ryans run defense look. At least 5+ yards before Derrick Henry is contacted on almost every run. I wouldn’t even pass if I’m Baltimore." - commented another.
"The #Texans had only 10 players on the field for that Henry TD. Not a good start." - lamented a third.
DeMeco Ryans' worries increase as Derrick Henry runs riot for Baltimore against Texans
One could almost understand why the Texans had 10 men on the field on the first Ravens touchdown. It looked like DeMeco Ryans and his coaching staff were looking for a package that could stop Derrick Henry. Why the Houston head coach was so perturbed by the Baltimore running back was not hard to see.
The former Titans running back decided to torment the AFC South team he used to come up against twice a year while in Tennessee. With less than 10 minutes gone in the first quarter, Derrick Henry had picked up 61 yards in eight carries and accounted for a touchdown allowing the visitors to rack up a 10-0 lead. The hosts had no answer to his power-running.
