Robert Saleh is no longer the head coach of the New York Jets. After a 2-3 start to the 2024 season and a 20-36 record during his tenure, the team decided to part ways with him on Tuesday.

Saleh was reportedly "blindsided" by the team and was given no indication that he was going to be fired. He reportedly walked into the Jets building to coach the team for their upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills, but was led into a meeting room with the Jets' top brass.

During the meeting, he was informed that he had been fired and was escorted out of the building by security, as per Pro Football Talk.

Fans were not pleased with the way the NFL head coach was treated and expressed their views on X (formerly Twitter).

Fans called out the Jets organization.

"Jets are a trash organization for doing Salah like that," a fan wrote.
"Bro what did he do to deserve this?" one fan asked.
"Jets are such a terrible org man," another fan said.

Jeff Ulbrich to replace Robert Saleh as interim HC

Jets defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich will step in as the interim head coach.

"This morning, I informed Robert Saleh that he will no longer serve as the Head Coach of the Jets. ... This was not an easy decision, but we are not where we should be given our expectations, and I believe now is the best time for us to move in a different direction. ... Jeff Ulbrich will serve as our Interim Head Coach for the remainder of the season," Jets owner Woody Johnson said in a statement.

Robert Saleh still had one year to go before being up for an extension, according to the contract he signed in 2021. He was fired a day after he told the media that he was not in panic mode after losing against the Minnesota Vikings in London.
