The AFC Championship Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills is expected to be fireworks as two of the best teams in the sport battle it out for a spot in Super Bowl LIX. While the Bills were able to win in the regular season at Buffalo, 30-21, this season, the Chiefs have won eight consecutive playoff games and are looking to three-peat.

While appearing on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd", former NFL wide receiver and "FOX NFL Kickoff" host Julian Edelman discussed how he believes the Buffalo Bills defense is designed with the Kansas City Chiefs in mind.

"The team is just constructed differently. Having [Matt] Milano back is huge. I mean, I think he's a difference maker. This defense was designed to beat the Kansas City Chiefs. If you look at how they always play their nickel personnel, they have a fast cover linebacker Milano for a tight end-type guy, Travis Kelce."

This Buffalo defense led the NFL with 24 takeaways in the regular season and finished 11th with 21.6 points per game allowed.

What is on the line for the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game?

The Buffalo Bills are looking to make their first Super Bowl appearance since losing in four consecutive Super Bowls from the 1990-1993 seasons. However, there seemingly is more on the line for the team than a Super Bowl appearance.

If the Kansas City Chiefs were to win and advance to the Super Bowl this season, it would be the fourth time that Patrick Mahomes has defeated Josh Allen in the playoffs. No quarterback has ever gone 0-4 against a contemporary in NFL history. Having that over their heads is going to be difficult to overcome in the future.

Buffalo managed to keep offensive coordinator Joe Brady as he has removed his name from the New Orleans Saints head coaching search after interviewing once.

However, if the team loses a fourth time to Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs, there may be need for some drastic changes in order to get over that hump. This AFC Championship Game has a lot on the line for the Buffalo franchise and their future.
