The Denver Broncos opened their 2024 NFL Draft by selecting Bo Nix in the first round. After making the shocking decision to release Russell Wilson during the offseason, they were desperate to find a new quarterback. They wasted no time doing so, as they made sure to grab Nix as early as possible.

The franchise then followed that steal by selecting his former teammate Troy Franklin in the fourth round.

The two of them had an elite connection with the Oregon Ducks, as Franklin was their leading receiver. They will now try to bring that chemistry to the NFL in Denver.

Many Broncos fans were hyped about pairing Nix with his top receiver:

"The new Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase," said another.
"That's a really good fourth round pick if Bo Nix is your guy," stated another.

Others chimed in on what could be next for the Broncos:

"Sutton still should be extended," replied another.
"Watch out Chiefs! We comin," posted another.

The Cincinnati Bengals used a similar strategy a few years ago with their tandem of quarterback and wide receiver, Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase from the LSU Tigers. It has worked out for them in a big way, as each of them are clearly among the top players in the entire NFL at their positions.

Bo Nix and Troy Franklin will now look to channel that same type of situation for the Denver Broncos.

They will highlight a brand new look for their offense ahead of the 2024 NFL season after making major changes during the offseason. It appears that head coach Sean Payton is working hard to put his own touch on the direction of the franchise.

The Denver Broncos signed Russell Wilson to a massive five-year contract extension, making him one of the highest-paid players in NFL history.

Just one year later, they brought in Sean Payton to take over as their head coach. Payton reportedly became frustrated with Wilson, allegedly resulting in his release after just two seasons.

The franchise also parted ways with Jerry Jeudy when they traded him to the Cleveland Browns during the offseason. Their next decision will come with Courtland Sutton, who is reportedly seeking a contract extension.

The selection of Troy Franklin makes even more sense for this reason, providing them with depth and reinforcements.

Regardless of what they decide to do with Sutton, it seems apparent that they are shaping their offense the way that Payton wants it.

He will enter the 2024 NFL season with a brand new quarterback and wide receiver combination as they look to get back into the NFL playoffs after failing to do so with Russell Wilson in either of his seasons.
