As Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Jack Jones likely knows, Madden 25 releases for everyone on Aug. 16. At this point, all of the ratings are available online, and those who bought the special editions of the game have already been able to play. As such, this is the time of year when players react to their ratings.

When asked about his feelings about his 74 overall in the game by Mike Dixon of VegasSportsTD via Vegas Sports Today, Jones went off. Here's what he said.

"They crazy," Jones said. "I don't even got nothing to say to them, they crazy. For one, I seen an animation with one of these, like, come on that's crazy! 74! I've got... the record for the most [pick six] touchdowns in 20 games, or 22 games. Let's start there. Second of all, how many interceptions I got? I think, four, three of them for [a pick] six."

Of course, many fans have long claimed that EA's rating system has been wrong since its inception. Some have criticized it for unfairly leaning on what a player did last season and the team they played for as seemingly the biggest factors taken into account.

For instance, Travis Kelce was granted a 99 overall despite hitting his mid-30s this year. Patrick Mahomes won the Super Bowl but had less than a 2:1 touchdown-interception ratio.

Madden 25 is packed with players and ratings, and some are right on the money. Others are too high, and finally, some are too low. Looking at just two teams, one from each conference, reveals this.

In the AFC, the Denver Broncos assigned kicker Wil Lutz has a mere 76 overall rating despite hitting 88.2% of his kicks last season. Quarterback Bo Nix was assigned a 71 overall, and after one preseason game, that rating requires a boost. Of course, neither player is deserving of a rating in the 90s, and in Nix's case, even the 80s.

However, 71 in Madden means the player is a liability, especially in terms of accuracy. That wasn't the case in Week 1 of the preseason, when Nix completed 15 of 21 passes, with drops accounting for several incompletions.

As for the LA Rams, Puka Nacua was given an 84 overall despite setting rookie records and totaling nearly 1500 yards as the team's No. 1 overall receiver, working against the best cornerbacks in the game much of the year.

Cooper Kupp, whose injuries have been his only obstacles, set records with his nearly 2000 all-purpose yardage in 2021. Yet he has earned an 88 overall. At this point, fans will be eager to jump into Madden 25's settings to adjust these ratings in offline modes to something more accurate.
