Back in August, FS1's Nick Wright threw arguably the most bold prediction out there. On an episode of First Things First, Wright declared:
“I am picking the Chicago Bears and Caleb Williams to win the NFC and to be a rookie quarterback representative in the Super Bowl.”
Cut to the end of December, and the Chicago Bears just lost their 10th consecutive game of the season in a stale 6-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the league's last Thursday Night Football game of the season. They don't have a permanent head coach or a set plan for the future and are projected to have another top-10 pick in the NFL Draft for the second year running.
This week, Wright's colleague Chris Broussard pointed out how the comparisons to Caleb Williams being a generational talent like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady or even Joe Burrow were outlandish to begin with. On Friday night's episode of First Things First, Broussard said:

“Marching down the field with a chance to win. And you throw a pick. That’s what Caleb did. Then you come on here and compare him favorably to Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Joe Burrow?
"It’s worse than I thought. This is delusional."
Caleb Williams' Chicago Bears booed off Soldier Field
The TNF finale of the season ended 6-3 in the Seahawks' favor and finished as the NFL's lowest-scoring game of the season. Yikes.
Bears fans were clearly not pleased with how things turned out as they extended their losing streak to 10 games and made their displeasure known by loudly booing the team off the field.
After the game, Caleb Williams was asked for his thoughts on the turn of events.
“This is my first year. Their frustrations go way longer back than I’ve been here," Williams said in the press conference.
"My job is to go out there and win games. We don’t focus on the outside noise. Fans are going to cheer and maybe boo sometimes. You can’t react to that."
The Bears clearly don't have much to play for apart from pride but will have a slim opportunity to snap their losing streak when they take on their perennial rivals the Green Bay Packers in Week 18.
