The NFL playoffs commenced with a tantalizing battle between the Houston Texans and the Los Angeles Chargers at NRG Stadium. The game pitted two of the best young quarterbacks in the league in CJ Stroud and Justin Herbert against each other.

As exciting as the duel looked on paper, it was quite the opposite on the field. The first half was a sluggish affair and produced only 16 points, which fans did not enjoy. They voiced their frustration on social media about it:

Some were incensed that the Chargers were allowing the Texans to stay in the game:

"This game could be over already. Texans have been hopelessly bad. Chargers have failed on third-and-1, dropped the second-and-long completion, and just dropped that pick on an inexplicably awful throw from Stroud." - Wrote @billbarnwell
"This Texas - Chargers game so boring & Houston terrible." - Remarked @famouslos32
"This has been such an embarrassing collapse. Offense let the Texans off the hook and now you can’t block anybody, Herbert isn’t playing superhero ball, nobody gets open, defense can’t stop a cold. 10-6 in a game you should be up at least 2 scores. Chargers gonna Charger" - Opined @riversian347

Texans blowout Chargers to advance to divisional round

The Chargers' offensive mishaps in the first half proved costly as Stroud and the Texans woke up in the second half and outscored the visitors 22-6 to eliminate them from the playoffs. LA came into the game as favorites but their underwhelming display on offense proved to be their bane.

As ecstatic as Houston will be about the win, their playoff path doesn't get any easier. They'll either travel to the Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs or battle the Buffalo Bills or the Baltimore Ravens depending on whether the Denver Broncos or Pittsburgh Steelers win their games.

The only way the Texans get a chance to play their divisional round game at home is if both the Bills and Ravens lose. As unlikely as it sounds, Houston has already showcased that it's hard to predict what could transpire in the playoffs.
