Lamar Jackson has proven that he is capable of performing well under pressure for his team. However, after winning his second NFL MVP trophy last season, the quarterback's preseason has not been going well. Jackson has been unable to spend much time on the field during the Ravens' training camp, leaving fans concerned.

The Baltimore Ravens started their camp on Sunday; however, Jackson left early due to an illness. The 27-year-old did not participate for three days. He joined the rest of the team on Friday but could not last more than an hour.

“After missing the first three days of training camp, Lamar Jackson left the field midway through Wednesday’s workout. He looked weary while walking across the field and into the team facility, and he was not feeling well," ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote on X (previously Twitter).

Lamar Jackson needs championships to solidify his coach’s words

Ravens coach John Harbaugh believes that Jackson would become one of the best quarterbacks of his generation. However, former NFL running back Fred Taylor placed a caveat on the whole prediction.

“He's going to have to get over that hump and win some championships”, Taylor said on the Pivot podcast. “Because those quarterbacks and their greatness stems from on the hills of how many championships can you win, and until that happens, that is yet to be determined.”

In Lamar Jackson's five seasons with the Ravens, he has failed to reach the Super Bowl, let alone win it. As per Fred Taylor, the QB needs more playoff success to be regarded as the greatest of his generation.
