Mason Rudolph was not exactly the best player in the Tennessee Titans' defeat of the Miami Dolphins on Monday. After all, he completed just nine of 17 attempts for 85 yards in relief of Will Levis, who went out of the game with a shoulder injury.
His most notable moment of the night was when social media personality Amanda Vance, who was in attendance with her boyfriend (and Dolphins fan) Joey Mauriello, claimed to have received a message from Rudolph in the second half. They posted the claim on the Instagram account of the online gaming platform Betr (which the couple is endorsing).
Rudolph denied that notion on Tuesday's episode of The Doug Gottlieb Show, saying:

“No, it was a response and it was about eight months ago. It was definitely not in between second down going to third down, that’s for sure. But a good frame job. A good frame job for a little 15 seconds of fame I guess.”
The Titans' Monday win was their first of the season. Rudolph said afterward:
"I didn't do a whole lot, that's for sure. Tony (Pollard) and the O-line and Tyjae (Spears) just mauled them up front. Moved the ball, controlled the ball in the second half. We protected the ball there in the second half and got out with the win."
Mason Rudolph to remain QB2 behind Will Levis as Titans enter bye week
Next up for Tennessee is a bye week, and it means some disappointing news for Mason Rudolph.
Will Levis get an opportunity to heal his shoulder and come back stronger when the team hosts the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 13? And after the win in Miami, coach Brian Callahan said:
"Will's healthy, he's our quarterback. He's our starter when he's healthy and we're ready to roll with him."
The next day, he reiterated his stance after an MRI scan confirmed nothing serious:
"There's no controversy, no second guessing."
He added that he hoped for a better performance from Levis after losing their first three games:
"It's hard to play starting quarterback in the NFL as everybody knows. (It) does take some development. Guys make young player mistakes. You see it all across the league right now, and we're going to find out everything about Will that we can."
Kickoff for that game is at 1 p.m. ET/12 p.m. CT on CBS.
