Harrison Butker's much-anticipated return to the Kansas City Chiefs' lineup quickly became a social media roasting. This happened after he missed a field goal against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

The jokes carried an extra layer of irony, referencing Butker's controversial May 2024 commencement speech where he suggested women should stay in the kitchen.

With the Chiefs leading 14-0 before halftime, Butker failed to convert a field goal attempt. This miss came despite his impressive pre-surgery stats: 18 of 20 field goals and 21 of 22 extra points.

Fans oscillated between mockery and pointed criticism. The first wave of reactions directly referenced his "kitchen" comments:

"To the kitchen," commented one fan.
"Get ready to learn kitchen buddy," added another fan.
"He just needs to spend more time in the kitchen to gather his thoughts..." one fan continued the roast.
"His wife would make that. Too bad she’s stuck in the kitchen," added another.

The next set of reactions turned more technical, with fans dissecting the missed kick:

"What a bum how do you miss a field goal under 30," mocked one fan.
"He kicks like that goofy," said another.
"Dang. Definitely needs to get knee looked at wow," said a fan.

The missed field goal occurred during a critical stretch for the Chiefs. The team is playing three games in 11 days, with their past three wins coming by three points or less. Despite Harrison Butker's miss, Kansas City remains a formidable 12-1 team.

Interestingly, the Chiefs aren't the only team wrestling with kicking issues. The Browns benched their struggling kicker Dustin Hopkins, who missed 6 of 9 field goals in his last five games. Hopkins, who signed a three-year, $15.9 million contract extension this summer, has been replaced by Riley Patterson.

Harrison Butker's return adds another layer to the Chiefs' playoff narrative. His performance will be crucial as they push toward potentially defending their Super Bowl title.
