Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are arguably the greatest head coach-quarterback duo in NFL history. The two have amassed much success together over the last 20 years together with the New England Patriots.

After 20 seasons under Belichick in New England, Brady packed his bags and moved south, joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the last three seasons of his NFL career.

When Tom Brady departed New England, many thought there was turmoil between him and Belichick. That was never the case. Brady had many guests on his Let's Go podcast, including former head coach as well.

The 45-year-old spoke about how the two never had any issues with each other.

Brady said:

"There are moments that, you know, it was never intolerable. I mean, but it was always just, I would say healthy debates about certain things. And we always talked about them face to face. And I think there's one thing I appreciate about Coach Belichick in life is he's not afraid to have a hard conversation to. And we didn't always agree, but we always respected each other. I know he respected me for the job that I did. And I certainly did the same."

He continued by saying how he thinks they grew closer to one another by people trying to drive them apart.

Brady said:

"And I think even when you go away from each other, you respect each other probably that much more I certainly did. Because I realized that commitment that he was trying to make to get our team to win. And that's the purpose of sports is to try to go compete and win.
"And when you have someone that believes in winning as much as you do, you want to be a part of that. And when people try to get in the way of that they become the enemy. So I always think the people that tried to drive us apart actually brought us closer together."

The pair won a record six Super Bowl victories together, and had nine Super Bowl appearances with 31 playoff victories.
